Late Dutchess County Vet Awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor

A memorial wall at Arlington High School in LaGrangeville honors the sacrifice of graduate Charlie Johnson, who received the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for his heroism during the Korean War. Johnson, a charismatic and giving person, saved fellow soldiers, including a high school classmate, during an intense firefight in North Korea. President Biden awarded Johnson the Medal of Honor in January, and the school plans to honor his legacy during Dutchess County's Memorial Day celebration in May.

Your Hudson Valley salutes you, Officer Johnson!
