We round up the best places to camp out, look to the skies, and celebrate Independence Day with glorious pyrotechnic displays.
Independence Day and all its festivities are just around the corner. However, not all of Westchester is saving the fireworks and celebrations for the Fourth of July proper. We’ve rounded up all the local celebrations for you to join in on leading up to and including the Fourth of July.
When the sun completely sets (about 9 p.m.), the night sky comes to life on the Fourth of July and select summer evenings.

Harbor Island Park

June 27 – July 6
A weeklong fireman’s carnival is the annual preamble to a fireworks show with the Sound as a breathtaking backdrop. Enjoy a free concert at 8 p.m. before the fireworks.
Rye
Starting June 28
Rye Playland hosts a mesmerizing firework show every Friday and Saturday night at 9 p.m. starting June 28.

Mark your calendar for live music, food trucks, and fireworks on June 29 from 4-10 p.m.
White Plains
July 2
-White Plains High School will be hosting an Independence Day celebration on July 2 at 5:30 p.m. There will be live entertainment, inflatable rides, food trucks, and fireworks.
Louis Engel Waterfront Park
Ossining
July 3
Those who plan on attending Ossining’s RiverJam on Friday nights are in for a special treat on July 3 during the concert series kickoff event. The lively festival features food trucks, craft beer, live music, and, on July 3, fireworks. Steel Passion and Homegrown will perform before the colorful display. The show starts at 5 p.m., and fireworks go off at 7:30 p.m.

July 3
This Independence Day celebration has a little something for everyone on July 3, including a hot dog-eating contest for the foodies and a basketball tournament for the athletes, along with food trucks, live music, and more. The festivities run from 5 p.m. until the fireworks in the evening. This event is for Somers residents and accompanying guests.

It’s an annual tradition at this Hudson-bordered park, as is an appearance by local classic rock band Kick Start Charlie, starting at 7:30 p.m. Plus, there will be food trucks from 5-9 p.m.
