In a move that will go down in history of Elmsford in Westchester County, New York, the police department has officially taken on its first and only female officer.
The hiring and swearing in of Tiesha Heath was such a monumental moment that it was given a special ceremony at city hall.
Those on hand on Tuesday, January 14th to honor Heath's achievement were Village of Elmsford Mayor Robert Williams, Deputy Mayor Sydney Henry, Trustees Joseph Coffey, Matthew Evans and Nelson Lopez, Administrator Michael Mills, Elmsford Police Commissioner Stephen Foster, and Chief of Police Thomas Proscia.
