Beacon, NY is Getting Another Dunkin'...But There May Be a Catch

'America Runs on Dunkin' and that includes in The Hudson Valley. So, it's exciting news to hear that another new location for us to make a Dunkin' run has officially been approved. However, you might not be as happy to know that it's a Dunkin' that might take you a few more minutes to visit. Let me explain.

According to Highlands Current, Beacon Planning Board in Dutchess County gave the 'green light' for a developer Jay Healey's proposal to erect a new Dunkin' at 420 Fishkill Avenue (near Carvana).

But although the board is all for adding another Dunkin' to the town, they're not exactly thrilled with it having a drive-thru window. In fact, Beacon City Council, after consulting and fielding recommendations from Fishkill Avenue Committee, is reportedly mulling over the idea of putting a law into place that would effectively ban the drive-thru option so as not create any additional traffic hazards.

That means instead of zipping through the drive-thru lane like you'd typically do at other Dunkin' coffee shops, you'd have to get out of your vehicle and physically go into the store to retrieve it. I know, I know. It's not ideal, especially if you're short on time or when it's cold, snowy, or rainy. Boo hiss.
