After months of being put through physical and mental tests and training, 18 members of the Dutchess County Law Enforcement Academy celebrated the completion of the curriculum with a graduation ceremony that was held last week at Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
According to Dutchess County Law Enforcement Academy, the new graduates, known as 'Class 28' and representing 6 different police agencies, successfully completed training in a variety of subjects such as police procedures, investigative techniques, de-escalation, traffic law, domestic violence, etc. They also learned how to administer CPR, first aid, and other life-saving measures, as well as completing physical fitness training exercises.
Eight of the 18 graduates will reportedly be joining the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office which operates the academy.
These brave men and women will be committing themselves to protecting and serving The Hudson Valley, and we thank them in advance for looking out for us all.
